This is a historical photograph of the former Polegate railway station in East Sussex, England. The image captures the junction of the "Cuckoo" Line from Eridge and the "East Coastway" line from Lewes.

The original station was resited in 1881 to eliminate the need for trains from the "Cuckoo" line to reverse en route to and from Eastbourne.

The station was closed to passengers in June 1964 as part of the Beeching cuts.

The station buildings were later completely demolished.

A new station was built nearby and opened in May 1986, near the site of the original 1846 station.
