This aerial photograph captures Hellingly Hospital, formerly the East Sussex County Asylum, near Hailsham, England, around 1932.

The hospital was designed by G.T. Hine and officially opened in 1903.

It was built on a large estate of approximately 400 acres.

At its peak, the facility housed nearly two thousand patients, with separate sections for male and female patients.

The site included a chapel and was connected by its own electric railway.

The main hospital buildings have since been demolished, with only a few outbuildings remaining within the new Roebuck Park estate.
