Rotherfield and Mark Cross railway station in approximately 1965

This image captures Rotherfield and Mark Cross railway station in approximately 1965. 

The station was located on the former Eridge to Polegate line, known as the "Cuckoo Line". 

Passenger services on this section of the line closed on June 13, 1965. 

The station building is still standing and has been converted into a private house. 

When the line was operational, the station was situated near the highest point of the Cuckoo Line, close to the Argos Hill Tunnel.
