  • The locomotive is pictured at Hailsham station. 
  • The K class locomotives were powerful and successful mixed-traffic engines designed by Lawson Billinton, first introduced in 1913. 
  • They were the first 2-6-0 (Mogul) type locomotives and the first to feature a Belpaire firebox on the LB&SCR. 
  • The class played a vital role during both World War I and World War II, handling heavy munitions, supply, and troop trains. 
  • Locomotive 32351 was eventually withdrawn from service in 1962.
