This is a black and white photograph of a British Railways (BR) Standard Class 4 2-6-4T steam locomotive arriving at Hailsham railway station, likely in the late 1950s or early 1960s. The station was on the "Cuckoo Line" in East Sussex, England.

The locomotive pictured is identified by the number on its side as 80032.

The BR Standard Class 4 2-6-4T locomotives were introduced in the early 1950s and were used for suburban passenger trains.

The Hailsham station building, visible on the right, was constructed in an Italianate style with arched windows.

The "Cuckoo Line" ran from Polegate to Eridge and was completed in two stages.

Hailsham station closed to passenger traffic in 1968, and all evidence of the station was later cleared away during the construction of a new road.
