This image captures the last train journey on the Cuckoo Line between Eridge and Hailsham on June 13, 1965. 

The train, a U class locomotive number 31803, was part of the "Wealdsman Rail Tour". 

It is pictured at Hellingly Station, which had officially closed to passengers in 1965. 

The station building and platform were still in good condition at the time of closure. 

Today, the former trackbed is a public path used for walking, cycling, and horse riding, known as the Cuckoo Trail.
