This image captures the forecourt of the former Hailsham Railway Station in Sussex, England, likely around the time of its closure to passenger services.
The station was opened in 1849 by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway.
It was part of the "Cuckoo Line" running between Polegate and Eridge.
Passenger services were withdrawn from the station on June 14, 1965.
The car in the foreground is a Morris Oxford or similar 'Farina' model, a common sight in the period before closure.
The station building has since been demolished, and the site redeveloped.
